the past few years ACE IT has turned its
visionary eye to the young of today: Many
concerns and issues of younger people are shared
by older people too – without either generation
realising it themselves!

The Moose In The Hoose Project
The Moose In The Hoose is a project aimed at introducing the
benefits of computers and the Internet to those living in Care
Homes and attending Day Care Centres across Edinburgh.
In short, we...
Provide long-term,
sustainable access to IT for older people living in care homes and
attending day centres across the city.
Utilise the time, skills
and commitment of older volunteers to provide this access.
Assist homes and centres to
establish and maintain an environment where electronic communication
and IT are readily accessible and well supported.
Our friendly and specially trained
volunteers maintain weekly visits to allow residents and day care
members to explore the Internet and access e-mail amongst other
activities.
As new friendships are made across
the keyboard,
contacts are made and maintained across continents!
Edinburgh Silver Surfers Web Club The
Edinburgh Silver Surfers Web Club meet at 1pm
each Tuesday within the ACE IT Computer Suite.
The Surfers have created their own award winning
website at edinburghsilversurfers.co.uk. The
site features a wide range of articles, news,
views and information for the over 50+
