Welcome to the Moose In The Hoose |
|
 |
|
Moose in the Hoose
recently welcomed aboard another group of newly trained
volunteers. After a 10 week course of
learning to skype, web cam and complete
life story books, our new volunteers are
being placed in existing care homes and
branching out into one new one in
Edinburgh. The project is also lucky in
having a number of original Moose
volunteers many of whom have been with
us for 5 years or longer.

The Moose In The Hoose is a project
aimed at introducing the benefits of
computers and the Internet to those living in Care Homes
and attending Day Care Centres across
Edinburgh.
|
In short, we... |
-
Provide long-term,
sustainable access to IT
for older people living
in care homes and
attending day centres
across the city.
-
Utilise the time, skills
and commitment of older
volunteers to provide
this access.
-
Assist homes and centres
to establish and
maintain an environment
where electronic
communication and IT are
readily accessible and
well supported.
-
Reduce social isolation
and loneliness among
older people by
including a social
aspect in all our
projects.
-
Promote equality by
including older people
from minority ethnic
communities and those
with dementia and other
disabilities.
