A new section of the ACE IT (Age Concern Edinburgh Information
Technology) website -
www.aceit.org.uk/network - was specially created to mark
the launch of the UK wide Digital Inclusion Network on 30 April 2007
at ACE IT’s Computer Training Centre, Caledonian House, 42
Caledonian Crescent, Edinburgh.

The purpose of the network, hosted by Age Concern and supported
by BT as a key partner, is to support digital inclusion projects for
older people within their communities by the sharing of good
practice methods and the provision of resources via membership of
the network
The main aim of the national launch is to celebrate the digital
inclusion of older people around the UK and to challenge the
negative stereotypes of technology that older people face today
ACE
IT developed and produced these new web pages to demonstrate how we
are helping to ‘put the pieces together’ with regards to Digital
Inclusion and Older People within Edinburgh and surrounding areas
On the web site*, click on each jigsaw piece to view examples of
social and digital inclusion, active citizenship, mental
stimulation, personal development and intergenerational projects
that ACE IT's older learners and volunteers have been involved with
to date !
* Please make sure your speakers are turned!! *
Many thanks to Henry Gray, BT Area Manager (Age & Disability Team)
who attended the Celebration Launch at Caledonian House.
