Get Safe Online Campaign |

The Get Safe Online campaign returned to the ACE IT
computer suite at Caledonian House in early November - to meet up
with a selection of silver surfers and remind them of the best ways
to keep secure when browsing online.
Advice and guidance was offered on a wide range of
topics including passwords, protecting children online and
preventing fraud. |

Representing Edinburgh Council, Councillor Alistair
Paisley visited the project in his official role of Baillie. "I'm
delighted to be associated with the launch of the Get Safe Online
awareness campaign and was delighted to see so many silver surfers
confidently dealing with computers and enjoying it so much" |

He went on to say. "I trust the project will go from
strength to strength and enrol many more silver surfers to gain
facilities to the computer web network without fear of losing their
identity or the other associated things that can happen." |

Learners are keen to shop and bank online |

Jenny Ridge Chief Exec & Director ACE IT was delighted to welcome
the campaign back to Edinburgh and said. “Our computer training
project for the 50+group has been running now for 6 years – teaching
over 2000 learners how to use the Internet. We know the eager
learners are keen to shop and bank on line so it is important for
them to be fully aware of security protection”
