ACE IT’s Silver Surfer Festival
& Birthday Week Celebrations Programme

Week commencing 22 May to 26 May 2006 at Caledonian House

Monday 22nd May:

10 am - Open House - Digital photography and restoration/ scanning - all day
1 pm - ACE IT assist the Royal Scot's fire the famous 1 o’clock gun at Edinburgh Castle!
2 pm - Sarah Boyack MSP officially launches the Celebrations and ACE IT SS Festival website
2.30 pm - The over 55’s choir sing some wartime favourites
3 pm - First live web upload of today’s photos to ACE IT ‘s Festival site and web gallery

Tuesday 23rd May:

10 am - Open House featuring Scanning of war memorabilia - Digital photography and restoration/Exhibition of original wartime items
2 pm - St Anne’s songsters entertain with more war tunes and dressed in their original uniforms!
3 pm - More uploads of restored photos from the People’s War Group - rare wartime footage

Wednesday 24th May:

10 am – 4 pm - Open House / scanning sessions/ photographic restoration and live uploads to ACE IT’s Festival website

Thursday 25th May:

10 am - Open House all day
12 am - 1pm PoL Steele of ACE IT presents a detailed look at the process followed in the digital restoration of original wartime memorabilia
2.30 pm - Ageing Well Road-Show Players entertain surfers and guests with their latest play

Friday 26th May:

10:30 am Leith Docks:- Welcome Home to HMS Edinburgh and VIP Tour of the ship
10 am – 4 pm - Open House / scanning sessions/ photographic restoration and live uploads to ACE IT’s Festival site

Also during the week - ACE IT’s Festival out in the Community:

‘Moose in the Hoose’ Outreach Project will have live web camera hook ups from sheltered housing and residential homes participating in the ‘Moose’ project throughout Edinburgh

Thursday Afternoon - Kirkliston Community Centre – Internet taster sessions. 1:30pm - 4:30pm For Further Information contact the centre on 0131 333 4214
