Hi, I am
French and British citizen. My Dad was one of the 15
free French who served on the WWII HMS
Edinburgh. He is still alive, at 90
years old now, and is retired in
Brittany in Saint Malo. Is it possible
to contact the actual HMS Edinburgh
commanding officer in case of this ship
will go once a day In Saint Malo ?
Thank you. |

| Three of the original Silver
Surfers here today, enjoying ourselves after a
fabulous day at the Castle for the One o'Clock
Gun. Thank you Jenny and all the Tutors. |

|
| This has been a lovely and
heart-warming visit into the past and makes me
very humble knowing a bit more about our
glorious heroes, men and Women at home during
the war. |

| Look forward to Tuesday
morning at ACE IT, always go away fulfilled and
give what I have learned a try at home. |

|
| This has been an excellent
programme and it has been great doing IT as a
couple. Thank you for your patience. We are
particularly grateful for personal tuition.

| Both Maria and Pat have been
very helpful. Although computer illiterate when
coming here I feel I am not as afraid as I was.
Thanks to Bill today as well. |

| Margaret and Gordon have had
doors opened and horizons widened. A big 'thank
you' to all the Tutors and a further thank you
for this afternoon's celebration. With all good
wishes for an equally successful future. |

| Great to be here. The classes
were really super and at last I have lost my
fear of the computer. Thanks for everything. |

| Thank you for inviting us
along to this enjoyable celebration |

| Enjoyed the morning, brought
back a lot of super memories. Thanks for your

Many thanks for inviting me
to the 5th birthday party. It was fun and how
clever of Pol to get all the lovely photos of
the firing of the gun on the screen so quickly.
I did enjoy seeing the Silver Surfers again and
meeting so many of your new Tutors. Gosh how you
have built up that super organisation over five
years.
The coffee morning in the Nursing Home was
postponed because of illness so if okay I would
love to pop in on Thursday morning. Again
sincere thanks for all the help you have given
me as a Silver Surfer, I really appreciate it.

| Jenny and her team are super
- I was an early 'Silver Surfer' and enjoyed
every minute of my time at Dalry House. |

| It's been a real pleasure
to be involved with ACE IT over the last three
years! While most
people are aware of the positive impact the
project has on the clients with regards to both
learning and social inclusion... What is perhaps
less well known is the story from the tutor’s
point of view.
When I first became disabled
in the early 90's, everyone including myself
believed that it was unlikely I would ever be
able to return to any form of employment.
However, the support and assistance I have
received from ACE IT led first to my receiving a
national award for volunteering and then a part
time position as a paid part-time member of staff (permitted work scheme D.W.P).
The satisfaction and sense of
achievement I have experienced as part of the
ACE IT team is only exceeded by the fun we have
- both during the classes and getting together
to come up with ideas to develop the learning
and social sides of the project. ACE IT has made
every effort to create a situation where I can
work round my disabilities in a normal working
environment. Being involved in the project has
really helped me 'Put the Pieces Together' after
over a decade on 'the scrap heap' ...Now that's
what I call recycling!” |
